There will be a private party hosted by Jeff Pence and Blessid Union Of Souls on November 8, 2008 around Morrow, Ohio. It's by invitation only but if you would like some VIP passes for the event Click HERE and send us your information. The band will be performing a few of their hits and there will be a few other special guest also performing.
Pictured to the left is Matt Senatore, the producer for Blessid Union Of Souls on the first 5 Cds. 6 counting Play Ball. Things started clicking with Matt and I (Jeff Pence) right away. We would try anything musically holding nothing back. If we both liked it we kept it, if we didn't like it we let it go. It was a lot of fun writing those first songs for our demo that all but 1 got on the Home CD. When we added Eliot to the mix we continued to roll right along. At that time Eliot was a dream to work with. It was just like our previous band Slamm but with a better suited producer for Eliot's voice.
I got a phone call a few weeks ago from our former bus driver Bobby Edwards letting me know he would be in town the next day with 38 Special doing a show in Blue Ash (Cincinnati, Oh) with Shooter Jennings and The Charlie Daniels Band, and would I like to attend. (Bobby now drives for 38 Special). Of course Bobby knows 38 Special was a huge influence on me when I was learning to play guitar and writing songs while I was playing in my first band Thunder Head. Then to my surprise he had invited my long time friend and former production manager of Blessid Union Of Souls Scott Griffith, pictured here with Bobby and I backstage while Charlie Daniels was playing.
You can now download music from the Blessid Union Of Souls website. Just go to our online store and click on downloads. There is only one song available right now but we will be posting many more in the near future. When you pay for the download you will receive a receipt for the purchase and within 24 hours you will receive another email with the link to download the song. Enjoy!
So after deciding to stay off the road and write new songs, it seemed we were spending more time at our other jobs and less writing new songs. While working for Ligosa Sound Studios I decided to open a small demo studio 3 doors down from Ligosa in Longworth Hall in Cincinnati. It was just big enough for a small 8-track cassette recorder and my midi gear. I could get two other people in the room and that was just enough room to do what we needed to do.
