Q1. How did you become interested in the music business?
Q2. Were you an artist before you were the Producer for Blessid Union? Q3. What was your first job in the music business? Where and who for? Matt: I was an A&R director for Warlock Records.. Q4. How did you meet Jeff Pence ? Matt: He was an engineer on a filthy rap record i was doing.. Q5. How did Blessid Union Of Souls get started? Matt: I was writing songs in a small demo studio owned by Jeff Pence to submit to my publisher and about the third song into the demos I started co-writing them with Jeff and that was the beginning of the Blessid Union foundation. Later Jeff brought his partner in Eliot Sloan, and the three of us started writing songs for the new group. Q6. Why didn't you join the group as an artist? Matt: I had my own thing going on East West at the time Q7. Is it true you performed live with the band at times, and if so how was that experience? Matt: Yes, I performed with the band.. A lot of the times it was fun and a lot of the times there was drama.. I won't go into it Q8. Rumor has it that your performance was so impressive you stole some thunder from the lead singer. Is that true? Matt: Ha ha.. Did I? I thought i was pretty good.. At least the crowd thought so.. It was fun... |

We hooked up with the producer for Blessid Union Of Souls Matt Senatore or in the music world he's known as Emosia. Over the years Matt would hop on the tour bus with the band and perform live with them as you can see to the left. The foundation of the band was actually built from some songs that Matt and Jeff Pence were writing in a demo studio in the early 90's. They brought Jeff's partner Eliot Sloan into the mix and Blessid Union Of Souls was formed. We asked Matt some questions about his music career.
